Target NEOs! is an Astronomical League Observing Program that engages amateur astronomers in taking images of near-Earth objects (NEOs) that may be suitable spacecraft targets and other interesting asteroids, too. The purpose is to collect data (e.g., astrometry and photometry) on asteroid targets to better characterize them physically, encourage interest in STEM education and careers and promote citizen contributions to astronomical research. Members of the Astronomical League may earn certificates. The project carries on the legacy of NASA’s OSIRIS-REx Target Asteroids! citizen science program.
