Goal Monitoring marine mammals around New York City
Task Collect sightings of marine mammals

Gotham Whale monitors marine mammals in the waters around New York City. We work primarily on board the whale watching vessel, The American Princess. We enlist other on-the-water observers to report sightings of whales, dolphins, and seals in the area.

How to Join

Participants support Gotham Whale by their fares (which allows us a unique platform to make our observations and record data). We also ask participants to share photographs with Gotham Whale, particularly fluke shots that are used to identify individual whales.
