ecoEXPLORE is a citizen science project that encourages youth ages 5-12 to submit photo observations of wildlife. ecoEXPLORERS earn points that they redeem for field tools such as binoculars and insect nets and can borrow additional field tools from public libraries. By submitting observations and accomplishing other citizen science tasks independently each child is invited to a quarterly event at The North Carolina Arboretum. Events include a special "Lunch with a Scientist" opportunity and a field experience with one of our science mentors.

All activities are free. This project is currently available in Buncombe and Madison County, NC but will be in additional counties soon!
