Our goals are 1) To identify the biotic and abiotic factors that determine the size and health of the Jamaica Bay terrapin population; 2) To promote the long term persistence of a healthy Jamaica Bay terrapin population; 3) To contribute to scientific knowledge and conservation efforts concerning terrapins and their wetland ecosystems all throughout their range; 4) To train new scientists and conservation biologists; 5) To use citizen science to involve as wide a variety of people as deeply as possible in all this!
