Description |
This proposed nutrient survey of the Mississippi River watershed seeks to glean a better understanding of the distribution of inorganic nutrient sources into the Mississippi River. |
How to Join |
To get started, find the sampling points nearest you by entering your zip code in our search form (link below): http://www.theopensourcescienceproject.com/cwsi-mississippiriversurveyvolunteerinfo.php From there, you will be asked whether you would like to volunteer to sample one zone near you. Complete the form provided, and you will be contacted within 24 hours by either Priyan Weerappuli (who is the project coordinator) or your local regional coordinator who will then go over what you will need to know for the actual sampling date. |

Required Gear | Access to the Mississippi River and a life jacket. If you have a boat, canoe, or kayak it would be best -- if not, we will try to help connect you with citizens in the area who have volunteered to take samplers out on the water. Sampling bottles and protocols will be provided to you by your regional coordinator. |
