The information gained through this monitoring project provides a method for evaluating the success of restoration and conservation of the Florida Native Butterfly Plant Exhibit at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. Monitoring efforts are conducted weekly by visiting 6-12 grade students participating in Fairchild’s Field Studies Environmental Education Program. The general management goal for this area is to protect and enhance native Florida plant species and communities of butterflies, and to introduce middle and high schools students to citizen science data collection methods
